Dal 1951, l'anno del Festival of Britain, questa zona fu coinvolta da una forte azione di riqualificazione e tutt'oggi è in costante espansione. Questo quartiere è conosciuto dagli skater di tutto il mondo per l'abbondanza di scale e rampe da percorre armati di tavola; fanatici dello skateboard saranno strabiliati dalla presenza di sculture dedicate a questo sport e disseminate nella zona.
